Solutions Engineer

The Solutions Engineer serves as a key resource for supporting external clients as well as internal teams in both planning and executing MCIM platform configuration and customization. This role requires an ability to facilitate, lead and coordinate technical discussions and drive through all phases of solution development. You will be focused primarily on data architecture, gathering business and technical requirements, assessing customer needs and delivering world class solutions.

Job Responsibilities

  • Through collaboration with the customer, the Product team, Operations and other Solutions Engineers, develop thoughtful solutions that help our customers using critical thinking, creativity and collaboration
  • A Solution Engineer plays a pivotal role in aligning innovative strategies to technology solutions within complex accounts with complex business processes
  • This role focuses on partnering with clients and collaborating with internal team members to drive consensus on technology solutions
  • Solutions Engineers work on a wide array of assignments including business development, operations and IT strategies, as well as product demonstrations; it’s important that the ideal candidate be able to manage multiple deliverables simultaneously
  • The SE is expected to participate in business problem solving by gathering ambiguous and sophisticated business problems; they must define the problem, drive innovative ideas, define the opportunity set, and recommend practical next steps
  • The SE’s responsibilities will include assisting the customer, Account Executives and Operations Teams with the discovery, analysis and ultimately the recommendation of strategic solutions for the customers
  • The SE is expected to use Salesforce best practices to address the core challenges and objectives that are uniquely identified for each customer
  • The SE is expected to discover the customer’s business needs, and position the best Salesforce solution to achieve those business objectives; a strong understanding of clicks vs. code is important to this role
  • SE’s are expected to maintain up-to-date knowledge of Salesforce product enhancements and acquire certifications to maintain knowledge vital to be effective in the position

Requirements and Skills

  • 3+ years in a technical lead capacity
  • Experience as a Salesforce BA, consultant or equivalent experience is a plus
  • Experience designing, evangelizing, and scaling large scale, consumer facing web and mobile applications
  • Experience writing technical requirements, user stories, test cases and working with teams to support implementation to production quality solutions
  • Strong Salesforce administration experience and/or certification along with a true appreciation for Salesforce best practices
  • Demonstrated ability to establish technical leadership in fast-paced environments for critical customer implementations
  • Solid oral, written, presentation, collaboration and interpersonal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Gearset, GitHub, Jira/Confluence is a plus
  • Experience interpreting integrations/ designing REST/SOAP web services (or Salesforce Connect, Workato, Mulesoft)
  • Previous experience as a Solutions Engineer for Salesforce ISV/Partner
  • Experience with importing, exporting and processing large volumes of data using Data Loader, or Jitterbit
